oakville dentist reopening

January 2021 update:

We are open!

The recent Stay-at-Home Order made under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and effective on January 14, 2021, does not change that prior order as it relates to dental clinics. Ontarians continue to be able to travel to access dental care and other regulated health care services.
Putting off or delaying your dental treatment and dental hygiene visits can impact your oral health.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

We have added more infection control protocols to enhance the safety of all our patients and staff. We also created a policy to allow for social distancing in the office and achieve a safe environment. In this guide, we will highlight some of the changes we made to protect your health.

Scheduling policies

We are allocating more time between visits for cleaning. We also will be scheduling fewer patients during the day to attain less social interaction.

Appointments will be made in advance and no walk-ins will be allowed to enhance social distancing efforts. We will do our best to accommodate emergencies on the same date. Please call us if you have any urgent dental emergencies.

Patient Screening

All patients will be screened for COVID-19 symtpoms before the appointments. We will also be performing a “pre-appointment screening”.

Patient Protection Station

We advise all patients to use masks when entering the office. We will have a hand sanitizer station for patients. We ask patients to exercise hand washing after entering the office and before leaving the office.

Sterilization

We take patient’s safety seriously. We use Health Canada approved cleaning detergents and supplies. All instruments are washed then processed through ultrasonic cleaning. We incorporate different types of autoclaves that kill bacteria, viruses, and spores by using steam, heat, and pressure to render any reusable equipment sterile and safe. Each entry is recorded in a log and biological monitoring kits and spore tests are done daily and for every load. All instruments are wrapped and stored.

Along with regular cleaning and disinfection, all high touch surfaces such as outdoor handles will be disinfected frequently.

You can always inquire about sterilization and safety policies, we’ll always be happy to give you a tour.

Interaction Limits and patient arrival

We will ask you to wait in your vehicles or outside the office until we text or call you for your appointment. In our waiting room, we’ll leave the minimum number of chairs for seating and ensure they are placed 2 metres (6 feet) apart. Our staff members will wipe down all surfaces with an approved surface cleaner as well. We have removed all toys, books and magazines. We won’t be offering Coffee and Water at this time.

Staff daily health checks

In addition to these new protocols, our staff will be conducting daily health checks for any symptoms.

Staff Training and Personal protection equipment

In addition to these new protocols, our staff will conduct regular training on safety and new policies. We will also be equipped with special PPE to ensure safety of patients and staff.

Payments

We will be accepting only credit and debit payments until further notice to avoid handling cash. We will still accept most insurance plans. Instead of paper invoices and claims, we will have a digital option through emails.

We are here to make you feel comfortable

If at any time, you feel unsure of the new protocols, feel free to ask our staff about the proper procedures. We will be happy to help guide you through the new process.

In the meantime, if you have an urgent need please reach out to us via phone. Please note that our hours may fluctuate as we adapt our schedule for the new safety protocols and patient demand.

Our goal is to provide you with the dental care you need in a safe and comfortable environment. We hope to see you soon!
