Do you accept my dental insurance?
Yes, we accept a wide range of dental insurance plans, including:
- Private Insurance: SunLife, Manulife, Great West Life, Empire Life, and more.
- Government Dental Plans: CDCP plans only
Make sure you bring your insurance information to your first visit.
Do you accept direct billing if I have insurance?
Yes, we offer direct billing. As long as we get a live response, we can submit your primary and secondary insurance claims directly to your insurance company. Any remaining balance not covered by insurance must be paid on the day of treatment. Please note that some insurance plans dont offer live direct billing for secondary plans, meaning if you have 2 insurances, we may direct bill the first insurance and give all the instructions needed to submit for the second insurance.
Do you accept CDCP insurance?
Yes, Oakville Family Dental accepts patients covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). The CDCP helps eligible Canadians access dental care by covering a portion of treatment costs based on a government fee schedule. Because the CDCP fee guide is typically lower than the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) fee guide used by most dental offices, some treatments may still have a small out-of-pocket portion. We have made a full guide about CDCP for our patients to read.
What does co-payment mean? Do I have to pay deductibles and co-payments?
Co-payment is the portion of the treatment cost not covered by insurance. The amount depends on your plan, ranging from 50% to 100% coverage.
For example, if your insurance covers 90% of an X-ray costing $28, you would pay $2.80. Waiving co-payments is illegal and constitutes insurance fraud. We will provide a breakdown of your benefits and inform you of any estimated payments before starting treatment.
What are my dental insurance benefits?
At your first appointment, we can contact your insurance provider to verify the details of your dental benefits. This ensures you fully understand your coverage.
Do you provide treatment estimates?
Yes, we are fully transparent with our fees. We provide treatment estimates and explain costs.
Yes, for major dental work, we send treatment estimates to your insurance company to determine coverage.
All financial arrangements are explained beforehand to avoid surprises.
