Dental Treatment Cost

Dental Treatment Costs – Questions & Answers

Dental costs can feel confusing, especially when insurance, treatment options, and different procedures are involved. At Bronte Road Family Dental in Oakville, we believe patients should understand their estimated fees before treatment begins. This page explains how dental fees are determined, what common procedures may cost, how insurance works, and how we help you make informed decisions about your care.

When treatment is recommended, we review the estimated cost with you before care begins. Some treatment plans may include a range because costs can change based on what is found during treatment, lab fees, materials, or changes in the treatment plan.

How do you determine your dentist fees?

Our fees are based on your dental needs, the materials used, and the type and complexity of the treatment. We follow the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) Fee Guide, which helps keep our fees fair, transparent, and competitive.

At Bronte Road Family Dental, we offer consultations with the dentist. During this visit, we assess your concerns, discuss treatment options, and provide an accurate estimate tailored to your needs. We offer consultations with the dentist. During this visit we will hear your concerns, provide general treatment options and price ranges. Once we’ve seen you for a comprehensive examination and obtained records for assessment, we can provide more accurate estimates tailored to your needs.

How much are dental fees, and what can I do to keep treatment affordable?

Dental fees are influenced by several factors, including materials, staffing, facility costs, and the time required for the procedure. More extensive treatments or multiple appointments will naturally cost more.

The best way to keep dental care affordable is through prevention and early detection. For example:

  • A routine recall visit—including exam, cleaning, polishing, and fluoride—may cost around $200-250 (rough estimates).

  • If a small cavity is detected early, a dental filling typically ranges from $250–$440, depending on the size, tooth, and materials.

  • If decay progresses and the tooth becomes infected, root canal therapy may cost $800–$1500.

  • A dental crown to restore the tooth is roughly $1200–$1300.

  • If the tooth cannot be saved, replacing it with a dental implant may range from $2500–$5500.

Early diagnosis usually means less invasive treatment and significantly lower long-term costs.

  • Whether X-rays or additional records are needed

Do you accept my dental insurance?

Yes. We accept most dental insurance plans. If you have questions about your coverage, please call us at 905-465-0026. Often, a quick phone call helps clarify any uncertainties.

The only government plan we accept is CDCP

Do I need to pay if I have dental insurance benefits?

We can contact your insurance provider on your behalf and help you understand your plan. We can also bill your insurance company directly.

However, patients are responsible for any amounts not covered by their plan. All costs and financial arrangements will be reviewed with you before treatment begins.

It’s important to remember that dental insurance is not designed to match individual dental needs—it functions more like a prepaid plan for specific procedures. Our team will always present multiple treatment options along with explanations of benefits, risks, and costs so you can make an informed decision.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept insurance payment as well as Visa, MasterCard, and Debit.
We do not accept cash or personal cheques.

For patients without insurance, our office offers 0% interest monthly payment plans (for qualified treatments and qualified clients).
